The Baby Muppets

After about a month away, I'm back for another weekly dose of awesome from the League of Extraordinary Bloggers. This week's topic...
In the spirit of Young Indiana Jones, Young Frankenstein, or Young Einstein, come up with a “Young ___” prequel or series.
I've had an idea like this in the back of my head for years! It would be based on the core group of Jim Henson's Muppets and I'd call it Baby Muppets.

The animated show would follow the Baby Muppets' adventures in play at the nursery where they are watched by a woman never actually seen on screen. The Baby Muppets could call their caregiver something generic like "Granny" and I thought it might be fun if she was voiced by a famous motherly figure from an old television show.

Socks, too.

You'd never see her face but she'd wear awesome socks.

I would never want the Baby Muppets to be available for commercial release so I would use tons of clips from popular movies and television programs and also the occasional piece of well-known music. This would ensure that no one would ever get the chance to privately own their own copy of Baby Muppets.

So there.

Take some time to check out more "young" creations by other League bloggers.

I see what you did there.

Yeah, it really suck about the DVDs, or lack of, I should say. I just hope that if/when the show ever does get a proper release, it won't' be with compromises, like removing the movie clips or changing them.

If/when a DVD set is ever released, I guarantee it's chopped to pieces (see also, WKRP).

Do you think one of them, maybe Animal, could have a catch phrase too? And say it every episode? Like: 'Hello! Hi! Hi!' at the beginning of each episode?

Nah, me neither.

I hadn't considered that, Eric. I did, however, think it might be fun if there was a police officer that lived next door that they were constantly keeping awake.
