The Summer of Tim: Day 5

DAY 5 - June 5 - Vintage Villains

The girls took off with my wife this morning to visit a friend's "fairy garden" so I had some time with my little guy all to myself. So why not get in his head early, right? We hopped in the car and drove over to Danville to check out a shop I've been meaning to visit for quite some time.

Simply put? Vintage Villains is fantastic!

Vintage toys from Star Wars to Masters of the Universe to Thundercats. Vintage games from Atari to NES to Sega Genesis. Trading cards. LPs. DVDs. Books.......

Seriously. If you're in the Champaign-to-Indianapolis area, a trip to Vintage Villains is well worth your time.

Need more convincing? They even have an arcade of a half-dozen or so games set to play for free. A game of Super Pac-Man should be enough to get you there by itself.

While I was there, I picked up a few NES games and then stopped off at a resale shop on the way home where I grabbed two more. The kids' nap time today consisted of some serious Excitebike action while I listened to the Karate Kid and Teen Wolf soundtracks (huge "thanks" to Jaime from shezcrafti.com for making me hear "Willem Dafoe" every time I listen to The Moment of Truth on the KK soundtrack).

Also realized today that Cypress Hill is back on tour and in Chicago a few days before my birthday in July. Tough call considering Will Hoge is in St. Louis on my birthday.

The Summer of Tim continues...

I love finding vintage stores like that stocked with stuff specifically slanted towards my tastes. And arcade games to boot? Heaven.
