Instead, I decided to spend the first night of my summer break a few hours away -- relaxing at home. My wife and I did a number on some Seagram's sweet tea vodka as I queued up the songs of my high school years and she caught up on her Army Wives binge. We wrapped up the evening on the porch with Jeffrey Foucault’s album of John Prine covers. The perfect end to a cool night.
Bobby Showers has a tune called Street Light that has become my theme at the start of every summer since I first heard the song.
“I didn't get a damn thing done. It was great.”
Preach, Bob.
The Summer of Tim continues...
