Day 26: Sunrise, Baseball, Mom

Last night was one of those nights where I couldn't sleep so I got up crazy early (2:30-ish) and when 5am rolled around, I decided to take a morning walk through the neighborhood. Considering the hefty storm that passed through last night, the sunrise was especially peaceful.

Back in my hometown for the evening, I had the chance to catch one of my nephew's baseball games; although I have to admit, I spent more time catching up with some old friends than I did watching the game.

He loves sports and really is quite an athlete. I can only assume that his inspiration comes from his uncle.

Yeah. That's right. Stirrups and all.

Lastly, I don't want to reduce something so significant to a few lines in a blog post, but it was five years ago tonight that my mom's brief battle with cancer came to an end.

I miss you, mom. Every day.

"I know someday I'll see your smiling face again, I don't know when but I know it's true, One other thing I know, No matter where we go, You love me and I love you."

The Summer of Tim continues...
