Vegetarians and Tornadoes

DAY 21 -- Now keep in mind that this is coming from the guy who recently inhaled a double cheeseburger from McHugh's Double Drive-Thru, but I think I could be a vegetarian if I wanted to.

Amy and I had a date night last night and sitting outside at Crane Alley, I wanted something light but filling for dinner. I went with a spinach salad and looking through my options for some protein to add, I was intrigued by the falafel option.

And it was pretty amazing.

I don't know that I'm ready to give up an occasional greasy gut bomb from a random burger joint, but I don't know of many other meats I couldn't do without. I don't eat deli meat of any kind as it is so really it'd just be a matter of giving up things like steak, chicken, and fish and replacing them with other proteins.

We'll see where this goes. Probably about as far as my next burger. I'm sure I'll tell you all about it though. How's the joke go?
An atheist, a vegan, and a CrossFit athlete walk into a bar. I only know because they told everyone within two minutes.
Strangely enough, one topic we discussed over dinner was the fact that it's about time for us to replenish the freezer with our annual meat purchase. Remember last year?

As for my anti-deli meat stance, you can hear me ramble on about that ad nauseam if you'd like. This was a focus of the discussion when I visited with the guys on the "Your Weird" podcast.

. . .

You've probably heard about the guy in Canada who was photographed mowing his lawn while a tornado approached in the background.

I've come a long was in overcoming many irrational fears and anxieties in my life, but I want to be as calm as that guy.
